As you know, tickets are on sale for our 2018 Sax on the River Presents a Smooth Jazz Concert for the Cure!
We are very excited to bring this event back to the RIVER and even more excited to have The Peet Project and saxophonist, Candy Dulfer as our headliners this year. This concert has raised thousands of dollars over the years for charities that are saving lives.
It is my vision to help cancer patients and ultimately help Susan G. Komen find a cure for breast cancer.
My bestie Liz was as passionate about this as I was and together we created this event to help in a small way. After she passed, I became even more passionate and aggressive about raising awareness and raising funds for organizations that DO the work!
What to Expect This Year
- This year, we are taking Sax on the River to Raley Field! This beautiful park on the Sacramento River is the perfect spot for an evening of music and fundraising! Raley field, the concert venue, sits on the Sacramento River and holds a precious skyline view of our city, with the gorgeous Tower Bridge. We are working to develop a partnership with a downtown hotel for attendees to stay that will be close enough to walk across the bridge to the venue.
- The day will start at 4 pm and, as in the past, we will have a broad array of things happening. We will spend the afternoon and early evening on the lovely shaded concourse. As always, we will have a silent auction and raffle, along with last year’s very popular Wine Wall and food will be available for sale. There will also be a small stage on the concourse with (to be announced) musical entertainment. Our VIP’s will enjoy a private elegant seated dinner and meet & greet with our featured artists.
- This year we have partnered with Tom Huiskens of HuskyShows. Tom is as passionate as we are about our cause and has continually supported this event over the past eight years! Finally, we have come together to bring a larger community event to the Sacramento area. In the evening of October 13th, we will move to the main stage seating & enjoy an unbelievably professional and exciting concert, with the City of Sacramento as our backdrop.
Ultimately, some items will change a little from past years, but this event will remain an intimate celebration of those who have survived cancer, to bring awareness of the issue to the forefront, and to enjoy an afternoon and evening of music together.
If you haven’t already, be sure to get your tickets today at www.saxontheriver.com and help me support those with breast cancer in our area and help us get closer to finding a cure!
I hope to see you all on October 13th!
With love & gratitude,
